I was reading in 2 Chronicles today about Solomon building the Temple of God. It is fascinating to read about the detail of each aspect of the Temple. We are given measurements, and intricate details of the gold overlays, the carvings, the furnishings, and what about the sea! I thought how marvelous it would be to have seen this great structure. Even as he built the temple, though, Solomon realized that God could not be contained in a building, no matter how great! The temple stood only as a place to offer sacrifices, and to be a witness to all the world of the greatness of our God.

Prior to reading this morning, I was praying for direction for this website; for what would bring glory and honor to His name. As I read and thoguht about the temple, I began to see that, in building this “list”, we too are forming a temple of God!

The “foundation” was laid when Jesus brought the new covenant. He alone is the cornerstone. Everything is built on His atoning blood. He is the cornerstone that supports the temple. Each name is a “brick”. Each group listing is a “wall”. The names of those who have gone home and are memorialized are the golden overlays. The life verses, the word of God are beautiful decorations. The Most Holy Place is in our hearts. As the list grows, so does our temple increase in beauty and splendor, a beautiful place to offer Him the sacrifice of praise, and a wonderful way to witness to this nation, and to all the world. We can come to it and be refreshed and renewed as we see all who are standing together, read the verses that have changed lives, and be reminded of the prize that awaits us by the names of those who have gone before us. His Glory will rest over it like a great cloud, and all the world will see that we are one in Christ, and that our God reigns!

Will you stand with us? Help us build this temple!

One of the goals for this website is to show the world that we are a Christian nation! We now have 15 states represented. How about being the first to claim YOUR state for Christ?

There are many options! You can add your name, and add a life verse to inspire others. You can list as a family, and add a verse. You can list as a group, such as a Bible Study, a Sunday School Class, a business, or even as a church! A verse can be added to this as well. You can also honor a loved one who has gone home by a memorial listing, and can add a verse. This listing is noted with a golden crown. Your loved one in Christ can continue to witness and to encourage the Body of Christ! What a wonderful memorial!

We would love to see this list expand worldwide! If you would like your province, territory or country added, simply send your payment to the following address and we will get you added!

Is there a strained relationship in your life? Someone you would like to feel closer to? I long to be closer to my son. I miss my dear friends and surrogate grandchild left behind in our move. I mourn the loss of family from divorce and being separated from my nephews. I long to just be in their presence. Do you ever feel this way?

Here is a beautiful quote that the Holy Spirit used to show me an important truth about love and relationships:

“When we hold up the life of another before God, when we expose it to God’s love, when we pray for its release from drowsiness, for the quickening of its inner health, for the power to throw off a destructive habit, for the restoration of its free and vital relationship with its fellows, for its strength to resist temptation, for its courage to continue against sharp opposition-only then do we sense what it means to share in God’s work, in His concern.” Douglas V. Steere

Recently, I felt a burden to pray for a small child who should be my nephew, only separated by divorce. This was brought to mind by the Holy Spirit as sin in my life that I wasn’t even aware of (not praying for this child)! It immediately brought a sorrow to my heart, as I would so love to be in this child’s life. Then I read this quote, and realized that even though I will not be able to have an earthly relationship with this child, I can still pray for him daily. Perhaps it is more important to have Spiritual bond through prayer than to have an earthly bond!

God used this to show me that there are seasons when prayer may be the most important aspect of our relationships. We all have times when our hearts just cry out to God for loved ones and friends. Perhaps they are more deep and heartfelt when we are separated, either by physical or emotional distances. Perhaps it is easier to see the real needs in their lives, to “hear” the cries of their hearts, when we are not daily involved with them on an emotional level. Perhaps it shows true love, a Christ-like love, to continue to pray for someone who shuns you, who will perhaps never even know you have been lifting them up!

Use these seasons to sharpen your prayer life. Take the focus off of your earthly relationships and begin to forge Spiritual relationships! Expose their lives to God’s love! It will lift the burden of struggling to “fix” others or your relationships in your own strength and allow God to work His healing magic in their lives, and yours as well. It will bring you peace. Praise the God of comfort!

You don’t have to be alone in this. We would love to pray with you, stand beside you, and lift you up as well. Just contact us through the prayer request page. All requests are confidential. You may simply send a request and we will pray. Or you can give us contact information, and we will stay in touch with you through email or phone, whatever you wish.

Are you looking for a great gift? Want to honor friends and family who have mentored you along your Christian walk? What better gift than to honor them on The List! You can add their names separately or in a group, add a life verse, even memorialize those who are now home. Check it out!

I am so blessed to have had grandparents who loved the Lord! I am so proud of my parents for turning to Christ and of their powerful testimonies! It is such a privilege to see their names on THE LIST, and know that they are still serving the Lord with their testimonies. It is good to be able to give something back to the ones who gave so much to me!

What a wonderful gift to give to the Body of Christ, to show those who finished strong. It is an encouragement to us all, to continue to press on towards the goal. Go to add a name page, and follow the directions for adding a memorial.

The nursing home where I have several friends has a devotional service on Tuesday evenings. I love going! We sing old hymns, study scripture, and pray for one another. Often, members of the community come and share their talents through song, preaching, etc.

Tonight, I assisted a gentleman back to his room. He was very feeble and had poor vision. Although I had seen him at services, I had not yet become aquainted. After he was back in his room, he gave me a hug. Only, instead of his feeble arms, I felt the strong and secure arms of Jesus! God used this gentleman to show His love to me! So, who was helping whom? Isn’t that the way God works in our lives? We think we are serving, and yet we receive much more than we could ever give! What an amazing Savior!

What about you? Have you met Jesus? Have you accepted His free gift of salvation through His blood? If not, or if you want to know more, check out our salvation page. If you have questions or prayer needs, send a message and we will answer promptly and help in any way we can. If you are part of the body of Christ, add your name to the list! Let’s show the world how strong this vine and branches is! Let’s encourage each other with our life verses and our names! God bless you all!

“Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” Matthew 9:37

As I go into nursing homes to visit, I see so many lonely and lost souls. Each day, as I pray for my friends, I worry that I will not be able to visit with all of them in the time I am there. If only there was someone to come alongside me to share in this task! Truly, there is a plentiful harvest; in nursing homes, in hospitals, in prisons, in homeless shelters, at work, in the circle of our friends and families. We need workers who are not afraid to step out in faith, not be ashamed or afraid, and who are willing to take a stand for Jesus! Let’s work on this harvest! Let’s step out and extend His love to the world! Put your name on the List, and make sure HIS name is on your heart (see salvation page). ARE YOU ON THE LIST?

God has laid a concern for the unborn on my heart. He has also laid a concern on my heart for another group of the weakest and least in our society, our elderly. Go to any nursing home in your area. When you walk into the lobby, you will see folks sitting all around, staring out the door, hoping to see someone they know walk in. I go to a nursing home in my area, not to work in any particular position, but just to sit and visit with people God has brought into my life. I did not know them prior to starting to visit, except for one gentleman, but met them when I started coming to sing with my stepmother as she plays the piano. Now, they are my dear friends. We chat and visit, study the Bible, and pray together. Some may seem confused at first, but the longer you talk with them, the more oriented they become. Some can’t answer me or even tell me their name, but I never fail to get a smile from them. I pray each day that I will be able to do something to bring hope and cheer to their day.

There is a song I love that talks about us being the Body of Christ. If we are the Body, why aren’t His arms reaching, His hands healing, His words teaching, His feet going, His love showing the Way to eternal life? I would add, why are there so many lonely souls crying out for love and companionship in our nursing homes, and no one to sit and spend time with them? I urge all to join in just visiting and making friends, then don’t stop! Keep going! You will grow and benefit so much!

Stand Up for the Gospel! Reach Out to this hurting world! Care for the least among us! Put your name on the List and show the world we are strong, only when we are in Christ!!!

REFLECTION by Fr. Terry Gensemer
—————————————————–

This passage is a very familiar one. It has been preached on many occasions, even made popular in books and songs. Though the quote is about Jesus, all Christians take this commission seriously as a directive on how to reach the world with the gospel.

We, like our Savior, are to bring the good news to the poor, the broken hearted, those in captivity, those who cannot see, and the oppressed.

The commission given to us in this passage is clearly a charge to care for those for whom God cares the most. I wonder though, whom do we look for to be touched by the Holy Spirit as we go out into the world?

Who are the poor, if not those unborn children who have been abandoned by their parents before they ever leave the womb?

Who are the broken hearted, if not those unborn children whose only example of love is having their mother take them to an abortion clinic to be destroyed, or the mother of a child who has been deceived by everyone around her into believing that what she is doing is best for her and her child?

Who are the captives, if not those unborn children who are bound over to death by the “choice” of abortion?

Who is more blind than an unborn child in the darkness of a womb that has become a waiting room for their death?

And who is more oppressed than those unborn children whose oppression has been legitimized by their government, their church and even their family and loved ones?

—————————————————–
PRAYER
—————————————————–

Lord, You empower us with Your Spirit to do your will in the earth. Send us to the poorest, the most broken, the most captive, the most blind and the most oppressed in the world, the innocent pre-born children in their mother’s wombs that are scheduled for destruction. Help us to bring them healing, liberty, sight and justice through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
—————————————————–

People participating in the 40 Days for Life vigil watched as a young man who appeared to be in tears walked into Planned Parenthood with his girlfriend and her mother.

When they left some time later, he was most certainly crying — and obviously quite upset.

I’ll let one of the prayer vigil participants pick up the story…

I watched him head down the street, alternating
between wiping the tears from his face and punching
the buildings in anger and frustration as he passed
them. Eventually he headed back toward the parking
lot. As he approached, I went to him first. All I
could think to say was that I was so very sorry for
his loss. He began to cry again.

Then a truck pulled up leaving the parking lot with
his girlfriend and her mother inside. The girl’s
mother yelled at him to get in and cursed him as he
opened the door. He had one foot inside, then
stepped back out and closed the door. As she drove
away he promptly sat down on the curb and cried
like a baby. Three of us sat down beside him — all
men — and cried with him.

Eventually, he began to talk. He was probably in
his very early twenties. He told us that his
girlfriend did not want to keep the child because
she feared they would not be able to provide for
him. He asked her how she could destroy a life
based on a hunch. He told her this child had a
heartbeat and a soul and deserved to live. He even
tried to convince her to, at the very least, put
the child up for adoption.

I was struck by the fact that this young man knew
all this simply because his heart told him it was
true. He was wise well beyond his years and he was
hurting terribly.

I was struck by the clear reality that fathers have
so little to do with whether their own children
live or die. I also couldn’t help but notice that
despite the high volume of Planned Parenthood
volunteers around, none of them approached him.

Before I left him, he stood up to hug me. All I
could tell him was what I truly believed — that
today, his child knows that his/her father fought
for it. That to his child, he is a hero and that
someday he would know that also.

Please pray for this young man and others like him.
The tragedy of abortion is real and happening every day. No one knows that better than he.

I sincerely hope this young man comes to embrace the exceptional advice he was given; but that will most certainly take time. I cannot even begin to imagine the anguish.

This is a first-person account of what abortion does to fathers. Who knows how many others have walked in his shoes, as there are more than a million abortions every year — and more than 50 million since the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that opened the floodgates to abortion on demand.

Let’s pray even harder!
